Privacy policy

Last updated: June 11, 2026. This policy describes how Debloon handles information when you use the website and related services.

What we collect

  • Account data: such as email, authentication identifiers, and profile fields you choose to provide (display name, bio, avatar, social links, debate history metadata).
  • Activity data: topics, debates, messages, notifications, ratings, and technical logs needed to run matchmaking, moderation, and security.
  • Device/session data: information typical for web apps (for example IP address, user agent, and cookies or local storage used to keep you signed in and remember UI preferences on your device).

How we use information

We use data to provide and improve the product, including:

  • Operating debates, messaging, search, and discovery features.
  • Generating optional vector embeddings from public profile text to power discovery (where enabled).
  • Preventing abuse, enforcing rules, and complying with law when required.

Sharing

We do not sell your email address. We use infrastructure providers (such as hosting and database vendors) to store and process data under contractual safeguards. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users and the service.

Advertising & cookies

With your consent, we show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or device identifiers to personalize and measure ads. Advertising scripts are only loaded when you opt in from Settings → Privacy & data, and you can withdraw consent at any time there. If you decline, the site works normally without advertising cookies. See how Google uses advertising data.

Retention

We retain information as long as needed to operate Debloon and meet legal obligations. Some exports and logs may be kept for shorter periods for performance and cost reasons.

Your choices

  • Use Settings → Privacy & data to download an account snapshot where available.
  • Many UI preferences (such as notification bell filters) are stored locally in your browser until you clear them.
  • Delete your account at any time from Settings → Privacy & data → Delete account. For other data questions, contact the Debloon team from your account email so we can verify ownership.

Children

Debloon is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

International users

If you access Debloon from outside your home country, your information may be processed in countries with different data protection laws. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards or your consent.
