Privacy policy
Last updated: June 3, 2026. This policy describes how Dabloon handles information when you use the website and related services.
What we collect
- Account data: such as email, authentication identifiers, and profile fields you choose to provide (display name, bio, avatar, social links, debate history metadata).
- Activity data: topics, debates, messages, notifications, ratings, and technical logs needed to run matchmaking, moderation, and security.
- Device/session data: information typical for web apps (for example IP address, user agent, and cookies or local storage used to keep you signed in and remember UI preferences on your device).
How we use information
We use data to provide and improve the product, including:
- Operating debates, messaging, search, and discovery features.
- Generating optional vector embeddings from public profile text to power discovery (where enabled).
- Preventing abuse, enforcing rules, and complying with law when required.
Sharing
We do not sell your email address. We use infrastructure providers (such as hosting and database vendors) to store and process data under contractual safeguards. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users and the service.
Retention
We retain information as long as needed to operate Dabloon and meet legal obligations. Some exports and logs may be kept for shorter periods for performance and cost reasons.
Your choices
- Use Settings → Privacy & data to download an account snapshot where available.
- Many UI preferences (such as notification bell filters) are stored locally in your browser until you clear them.
- For account deletion or data questions, contact the Dabloon team from your account email so we can verify ownership.
Children
Dabloon is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
International users
If you access Dabloon from outside your home country, your information may be processed in countries with different data protection laws. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards or your consent.
