Frequently asked questions
How do I start debating?
Browse the arena, open a topic you care about, and use the challenge flow when you want to face an opponent. You can also propose new topics from the propose flow when that is enabled for your account.
Do I need an account?
You need a session to participate in most flows. You can sign up with email or use supported sign-in providers where enabled. Guest-style sessions may be limited; upgrading to a full account preserves progress across devices.
How do I change my @username?
Usernames are edited in Settings → Profile so your public URL and handle stay consistent. The profile editor is for display name, bio, stances, and social links.
What is ELO?
ELO is a skill rating that moves up or down based on competitive outcomes. It is a rough signal of recent performance—not a moral score and not a guarantee of who is "right" in a debate.
How do notifications work?
You will get in-app notifications for summons, verdicts, messages, topic approvals, and other activity. You can tune bell-menu filters and accessibility options in Settings.
How do I export my data or fix account issues?
A JSON account snapshot is available under Settings → Privacy & data. For deletion or complex requests, contact the team from the email on your account so we can verify ownership safely.
